From now till March 31, book with Scoot, which operates daily flights on its Singapore-Taipei-Tokyo service and get preferential rates for accommodation in Taiwan and Japan through local startup Qiito .

"Scoot is the only low-cost travel option with daily flights between Singapore and Tokyo, and between Tokyo and Taipei, so with our unbeatable value airfares and the great offers from JNTO, TTB and Qiito, there's no better time to get outta here with Scoot," says Scoot's chief executive officer Campbell Wilson.

This is the second time that JNTO has promoted a twin-destination offering. Last month, it rolled out Project Kimchi and Sushi together with Korea Tourism Organisation (KTO) Singapore Office to offer special tour packages to both Japan and Korea.

JNTO Singapore Office's manager Susan Ong says these tours have received "good response" and bookings are still available for travel till July.

Ms Ong says that JNTO had been in talks with KTO more than two years ago but had to delay the launch until recently when Japan suffered the earthquake and tsunami in the Tohoku region on March 11, 2011.

When asked if JNTO will be partnering other tourism organisations, Ms Ong says: "We can continue our existing joint campaigns, but it must bring high traffic numbers to Japan."
