Tips on committing to skateboarding tricks

Skateboarding is a sport which involves riding and performing tricks. It may be dangerous, but in order to do tricks like the big spin or hipper jump you need to conquer your fear of injury. Here are some tips to guide you:

1) Prepare yourself by putting on safety equipment such as a helmet, a pair of elbow pads and knee pads. Remember to put on a pair of skate shoes as they are made to help you skate better. It is safer for you to try out different tricks if you are well-equipped

2) Start rolling on your skateboard slowly. Before doing any tricks, ensure that you are moving comfortably with the board.

3) Learn the proper way of performing a trick by watching others. You may search for videos and articles online. You can also visit places where many skateboarders hang out to perform their tricks. Try to practice as much as possible. Once you understand how the trick is done, you will be less nervous.

4) Lastly, always visualise yourself landing the trick. Never lose focus as that may increase the chances of you losing your balance.

Practice is the key to learning so stay focused and don’t give up!
