SINGAPORE - Those who want the ease of online shopping but miss the window shopping experience of physical stores can check out V Mall (thevmall.com.sg), touted as Singapore's first virtual mall.

The new website by Singaporean entrepreneur Chong Han Tsong, 43, replicates the concept of an actual shopping centre where shoppers can browse through stores and take the escalator or elevator to other levels.

The 170 fashion and beauty brands available, including home-grown fashion labels Lion Earl and Pachelbel, as well as regional cosmetics brands such as South Korea's Missha and Korres from Greece, occupy five "floors". The online mall will also offer products from multi-label sportswear store World Of Sports.

These retailers pay a monthly "rental" for the retail space, which at $500, costs a fraction of the roughly $10,000 per month they would have to pay at brick-and-mortar malls. Leases are for six months.

To "enter" a store, simply click on the logo or the shop name. You can then browse and buy items just as you would at any online store.

Shipping is free and your orders will be delivered within three to five working days.
