NTU admission letters go digital

Students offered a place at Nanyang Technological University (NTU) from this year onwards will receive their offer letters electronically instead of in paper form - a first for a Singapore university.

In previous admissions exercises, NTU sent out about 15,000 offer letters via snail mail. Under a pilot phase, more than 400 digital letters have been sent to polytechnic students offered a place at the university.

The letters, which are digitally certified for security and authenticity, will help cut waste and make it easier for students to respond to their offers regardless of whether they are serving National Service or out of the country, said NTU in a release on Tuesday.

The new system makes the entire process, from application to acceptance of the university's offer of admission, completely paperless, NTU added.
