We braved the massive crowds, trekked across three floors and scoured hundreds of stalls and products over four days.

Comex 2012 at the Suntec Singapore International Convention and Exhibition Centre proved to be just as busy and exciting for the Digital Life team as it was for the horde of consumers who turned up at the tech fair.

From day one of the annual IT and consumer technology exhibition, which ran from Aug 30 to Sept 2, DL hunted for the best bargains and shared them during our inaugural live coverage on our Comex 2012 microsite at

We garnered more than 136,000 page views on our microsite and delivered daily updates from noon to 7pm every day.

Mr Jeremy Tan, who was searching for a cheap portable hard drive, was one of the lucky few who snagged a portable 1TB hard drive for $99. "I would not have known about it if not for DL's Comex microsite and saw it mentioned on their Facebook page," the 32-year-old said.

More than 40 stories on the best deals and tips for shoppers were shared with our readers before and during the show. From slim LED TVs, telco plans with bundled freebies to the best value DSLRs and compact cameras, the team covered more than 10 different product categories to cater to everyone's needs.

Besides the informative buying guides from our microsite, readers also went home with various prizes, worth more than $6,000 in total, from our daily giveaways and contests.

Together with The Straits Times RazorTV crew, DL showcased the best five deals, the latest products and the booth babes of Comex 2012.

Speaking of booth babes, Digital Life's mini-pageant crowned MsErinna Lin (right) as this year's booth babe. The 22-year-old marketing student at the Singapore Institute of Management received 415 votes when the contest ended last Sunday at 2pm.

Ms Lin, who won a Razer Anasi keyboard worth $149.99 and a Razer Nagu 2012 mouse worth $119.99, was working as a promoter at the Canon booth. "I was talking to my friends who visited me and they supported me by voting and telling their friends about it," she said.

Readers who voted for their favourite booth babes also won prizes, such as a TDK Sound Cube speaker worth $499. Comex visitors were also rewarded for finding the best deals and sharing it with the team during the four days.

DL's mini-newsroom at Comex gathered a crowd eager to collect attractive prizes such as Apple iPhone 4/4S and Samsung Galaxy SIII cases from Viva during our daily giveaways. Early birds who participated in our giveaways also walked away with Toshiba 500GB hard drives and Sandisk Cruzer Blade 16GB flash drives.
