Clean your smart phone screen in 5 stepsLearn how to sanitise your screen
Smart phones are vital in modern times.
We bring them around everywhere, placing them in toilets, on cafeteria tables, on our sofas etc – and in the process collect germs from everywhere.
For hygienic purposes, remember to clean your phone on a regular basis. Follow these 4 simple steps:
Step 1: Switch off your phone
Before you start cleaning, switch off or lock your phone first. It is much easier to clean it this way as you can see the dirt and grease on a black screen compared to when the screen is lit up.
Step 2: Clean the screen once through
Wipe the screen once through using a microfiber cloth to get rid of bigger and easier smudges. These cloths are suitable to clean most screens, especially touch phone screens. They will not scratch your screen, plus they pick up more germs and bacteria compared to a regular cloth.
Step 3: Use a moist cotton cloth for thorough cleaning
If there are stubborn grease on your screen, moisten a cotton cloth and wipe it through. Keep repeating until the smudge is gone. Remember not to put too much pressure on the screen as the cotton cloth may have rough surfaces which could scratch the screen. You can also get a cleaning kit with a specialised cleaning solution to clean your screen.
Step 4: Leave it to dry naturally
Wipe the screen one last time with the microfiber cloth. If there is any wetness left on the screen, leave it to air dry.
For further protection, you can get a film protector for your screen to prevent any scratches from forming. There are also smudge proof films so you wouldn’t have to deal with dirty screens. To stop scratches at all cause, you should avoid from keeping keys or any objects together with your phone that can scratch the screen.
Cleaning your touch screen mobile phone is one way to prevent smudges from forming but protecting it would be better… Hope you’re on your way to a cleaner, germ-free phone!
