A generous feast for a worthy cause A performance by Gems, a choir consisting of staff and volunteers of the Dover Park Hospice, raised over $900,000.

A performance by Gems, a choir consisting of staff and volunteers of the Dover Park Hospice, during a fund-raising dinner for the hospice at the Shangri-La hotel last night. The event raised over $900,000. The feast for the 500 diners included dishes such as a salad with truffle vinaigrette and charred chicken char siew with grilled pineapple. Tables cost between $6,000 and $36,000.

Among the guests were President Tony Tan Keng Yam and Health Minister Gan Kim Yong.

Well-known chef Justin Quek worked with the culinary team from Shangri-La to prepare the sumptuous dinner.
